Hier können Sie downloaden: By F. B. Laska, k. u. k. Hauptmann, 1898 A great historical document of Captain Laska which describes his experiences hunting with Deerhounds at the time of the Austro-Hungarian Monarchy. The article is a fascinating description of the working Deerhound, which has helped foster our understanding of a functional Scottish Deerhound. We consider it an irony of time that Laska complained then (1898) of the overly large Deerhounds and the (also visual) mis-identification between Deerhounds and Wolfhounds. Today these passages could not be more to the point… The English translation by Oliver & Gabriele Fritsch and Richard Hawkins (>> www.fernhill.com) was published in the 2006 editions (Vol. 3 Issues 1-3) of Performance Sighthound Journal (PSJ) >> www.performancesighthoundjournal.com.
